Thank you so much for your support at our last meeting. I am so grateful to be on a forward track towards unity among the yoga teachers of Jacksonville. We are a fabulous group of spiritual and well trained Yogis. Here is a recap of our meeting in case you wanted to review, or if you were unable to attend.
- Heather Hixon shared her story and vision for Jaya Jax and gave a brief "context" of what the meeting would entail.
- We then went around to introduce ourselves, announce workshops and offer community outreach information.
- Lisa Long then gave her story and vision of Jaya Jax.
- We opened up the floor for discussion about "Jaya Jax Area Volunteers" to help spread the word about our group to other yoga teachers & studios in Jacksonville. As of right now we have the following members in place for volunteer purposes.
- Heather Hixon & Lisa Long (Jax Beaches)
- Melissa for (Avendale, San Marco). (please correct me if I'm wrong)
- Terry for (Southside). (please correct me if I'm wrong)
- Kate Cordel has offered to take our minutes at our meetings in the future.
- Dennis & Kathy Lang have offered to promote to the community and help out when needed.
- Melissa has offered to host and create our website. Which will be for the community to find out about our studios, classes and workshops.
- Lisa is contacting MAYA and SATYA to find out about the "how to's" for future visions.
- Heather Hixon will continue to host the Jaya Jax blog site. This will be our teachers forum/ information about upcoming meetings and workshops, contact info and meeting minutes board. (Not designed for the community ...but more for us as teachers)
- Make sure you sign up to "follow" the blog. It's easy.
- Heather put in a call to Freddie at Natural Awakenings. (FYI.)
- Marci Cervone is putting together ideas for the fundraising event for the animal shelters. We will make sure all legalities are researched.
- Melissa also created a facebook page so be sure to link up with JAYA JAX.
Our next meeting will be on September 13, 2009 at 4:00pm at Yoga Ananda, hosted by Melissa.
